December 21, 2012

Christmas is right around the corner, and Santa is shining up his sleigh. Thanks to all of you, Christmas will be a lighter, brighter for some little ones out there. The box at Prairie EyeCare is filling up and the children at St. Anselm’s wanted their contributions for others.

The Broken Bow School Board met Monday evening, with the two items on the agenda generating the most discussion both being more civic related than education related.

Litchfield HS football field vandalized

December 21, 2012

LITCHFIELD -- There was a sense of frustration in their voices as they explained what happened ... here was a community that gathered an estimated $7,000, through donations from businesses and individuals, to do the necessary repairs on the school's football field. Safer Christmas cookies make for a happier holiday season

December 18, 2012

Holiday cookies are even tastier when they're prepared in a safe, clean kitchen.
The cookie shaped like a Christmas tree, wreath or snowman is a delicious part of the season, but be sure to clean cooking surfaces and avoid eating the dough to make them an even more enjoyable addition to the celebrations. Raw dough could make you sick, according to University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension food specialist Julie Albrecht.
