John Millen, Jr, 76, of Broken Bow, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Good Life Center in Callaway. Â
He was born on the Millen homestead near Gandy, May 15, 1939, to Roxanna and John Millen.
John was the fifth of six siblings, Yvonne, Mary, Helen, Evelyn and Nick. He attended school in Gandy but dropped out during high school to farm the home place.
John âJackâ Stevenson, age 84 of Holdrege, died Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in St. Josephâs Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in the Broken Bow Cemetery.Â
Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow, was in charge of arrangements.Â

Gary Bomberger, age 67 of Oconto died Thursday July 16, 2015, at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway.Â
Funeral services were Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Oconto Community Building in Oconto, with the Rev. Doug Jones officiating and Military Honors. Inurnment was Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in the Oconto Cemetery.Â
Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.

Bonnie R. Fernau, 66, of Arcadia passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
A Celebration of Life was Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Arcadia United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Jeff D. Hale officiated.
Inurnment was in the Arcadia Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Arcadia Veterans Wall and Garden or to the Familyâs Choice. Ord Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Bonnie Rae was born April 4, 1949, to Ottis V. and Virginia Jean (Powell) Gartside at Loup City.
Orin Davis Parker of Santa Maria, Calif., passed away June 29, 2015, surrounded by his loved ones.
Orin was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Custer County, to Mark and Ruth Parker and was raised in Broken Bow. Orin was the oldest of three children.
He graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1961.
Orin made a spontaneous decision to move to California in 1962, where he set roots.
He met his wife, Teri, at a gathering to watch the first Super Bowl and they were married within a year. Together they had three children.
Verna Velda Oxford, daughter of Lilburn Fletcher Oxford and Margaret Alice Hersh Oxford, was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Comstock, and passed away peacefully April 21, 2015, at the Western Plains Medical
Complex at Dodge City, Kan., at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 2 days.
Verna was born and reared in Comstock. She went on to Business
College in St. Paul, and from there to work for the War Department in Washington, D.C. a few months prior to Pearl Harbor.
Carolyn Darlene McIntosh, age 73, of Douglas, Wyo., formerly of Central City, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with the Rev. Doug Jones officiating.Â Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery.Â
Carolyn Darlene McIntosh was born Nov. 14, 1941, at Broken Bow, to Leonard and Alice (Louder) Brassier.Â
Russell Stanley Gaston was born Jan. 29, 1931, at Norman, Neb., to Thomas and Merwie (Edson) Gaston. He was the youngest of six children, two brothers and three sisters.
Russell attended grade school in Norman, where his father was a rural mail carrier. Upon completion of grade school, he began high school in Minden.
Being active in sports and not having a car, he and his brother, Robert, walked and hitchhiked the 10 miles after football and basketball practice to their home in Norman.
Kenneth Joe Eacker, 86, formerly of Broken Bow died Friday, July 10, 2015, at Prairie View Gardens, Kearney.Â Services were Tuesday, July 14 at Govier Brothers in Broken Bow, with the Rev. Ken Hutson officiating. Burial was in Broken Bow Cemetery, with military honors.
Kenny was born Dec. 12, 1928, in Broken Bow, to John and Freida Eacker. Kenny was the second youngest of 14 children.
Mable Lee Kelly of Anselmo, passed away July 4, 2015, at Golden LivingCenter in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Broken Bow Cemetery
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mable was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Arnold to Walter and Elva Babcock. She grew up in the Arnold area. She received her education in Mason City and Broken Bow.
She was united in marriage to Calvin Kelly in 1961.
