LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The firing of Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has created an uncertain future for @FauxPelini.
Asked whether the popular parody Twitter account would live on, the man behind it tweeted to The Associated Press on Monday that "the short/honest answer right now is 'not sure.'"
@FauxPelini has amassed 161,000 followers since being created in December 2010. The account spoofs and exaggerates the real Pelini's no-nonsense personality and is famous for its profile picture of a sweater-wearing Pelini holding a cat.

Shortly after watching Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon run through his charges in record-setting fashion, Nebraska defensive coordinator John Papuchis issued the challenge for this week.
"A lot of who we are as a program, coaches and players, is going to be revealed when we play against Minnesota," Papuchis said in Madison, Wisconsin.
It's going to be a rough few days for those players and coaches before kickoff against the Gophers.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Nebraska tried its best to emulate Melvin Gordon's speed in practice.
But no Cornhusker can run quite like the man himself, and Nebraska found that out the hard way on Saturday.
Gordon rushed for a major college-record 408 yards and four touchdowns, and No. 22 Wisconsin scored 56 unanswered points in a 59-24 rout of the 11th-ranked Cornhuskers.
"Just the speed of Melvin Gordon is impossible to simulate. That would be anybody on our team," defensive coordinator John Papuchis said.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
Welcome to the Ameer Abdullah-Melvin Gordon Bowl. This is a showcase game for Nebraska's Abdullah and Wisconsin's Gordon to make statements to Heisman Trophy voters. Besides the footrace between the star running backs, the game could be crucial in determining the Big Ten West division title. The loser has a tougher road to win the West and a trip to the league title game.

Nebraska's De'Mornay Pierson-El quickly established his reputation as one of the nation's top punt returners.
This freshman can do more than special teams.
Knowing that Pierson-El has returned two punts for touchdowns, Northwestern mostly kicked away from him Saturday. That didn't stop him from hurting the Wildcats in other ways in the Cornhuskers' 38-17 road victory.
