Ansley man sent to federal prison
A 51-year-old Ansley man has been sentenced to federal prison for possession of child pornography, as the result of a joint investigation involving the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. Anthony Lewandowski was arrested June 21, 2012, after a warrant was issued following an investigation in which a computer that Lewandowski possessed was found to have child pornography on it. The computer, along with other electronic devices, was seized. He was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Lewandowski was arraigned in Custer County Court June 28, 2012, and the case was turned over to the U.S. District Court in August 2012. The federal court got involved because the crime was committed by use of the Internet. Lewandowski entered a plea of guilty in U.S. District Court March 18, after reaching a plea agreement. He was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
