Blast of cold hits state

March 3, 2014

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Arctic cold temperatures have returned to Nebraska after the latest winter storm moved across the state.

The National Weather Service says Nebraskans will have to endure another round of bitter cold for the next few days, but warmer temperatures are expected later this week.

Forecasters say Sunday's single-digit high temperatures could set records across the state. And wind chills 20-to-35 degrees below zero were reported Sunday.

But temperatures are expected to climb above normal by Thursday and Friday. The high temperatures on those days may even get above 50 in parts of Nebraska.
