Broken Bow seniors earn season Sweep of Cozad

On June 6, the Broken Bow senior baseball team finished off their season sweep of Cozad, winning 12-8 after beating them 6-2 in the first matchup of the season.

They trailed 8-5 heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, where they broke the game open with a seven-run showing.

Hunter Campbell and Josey Evans powered the Indians at the plate. Campbell went 2-3 with a single and a double with an RBI and scoring two runs himself. Evans reached base three times in his four plate appearances with three singles. He had two RBIs and also scored twice.

Caleb Dodge crossed the plate twice while going 1-2 with a single and crossing the plate twice. Jake McCormick duplicated that effort, going 1-2 with a single and crossing the plate twice.

Preston Sanchez and Jack Smallcomb also crossed the plate and Sanchez finished with a single.

On the mound, Dodge and Smallcomb combined to strikeout six, walk five and allow five earned runs on eight hits.

The Indians also committed four errors.

The win pushes the seniors record to 3-5 as they head to Ogallala for a double header Tuesday night with games at 5:30 and 8 p.m.
