Broken Bow picked up its third straight victory Thursday night with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-15) win over Ravenna Thursday night. It was their second straight victory over Ravenna this week after downing them 2-1 in the previous matchup.
The Indians took control right away and didn't let up, particularly in the second set. Broken Bow jumped out to a 12-2 lead before siding out.
Playing together as a team and with unity has been a big key to the success as of late.
"We're really working on playing as a team together in practice and not giving up," Libero Morgan Hueftle said. "Usually when we do well, we have a let down after that, so we're working on not having any let downs this year."
For Sami Gaston, the team's spirit has shown in their recent victories and it was on display again in the Thursday night win over Ravenna.
"We just had a lot of fire," Gaston said. "We came out with the attitude that we weren't going to lose. We had the hunger."
Broken Bow will try to keep the momentum going when they travel to Sutherland on Saturday for a tournament.
Stats will be updated to this story when they become available. Coverage of the Sutherland tournament will be in the Sept. 27 edition of the Custer County Chief.
