Community Health Fair

Make plans to attend a Community Health Fair Oct. 30, from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at Mid Plains Community College in Broken Bow. The evening will focus on health issues prevalent in today’s lifestyles.
Health Fair chair Kathy Hillje said she is excited about what is being offered.
“(The event) is not just focused on general health, but on all aspects of what constitutes a healthy lifestyle.”
Offerings include: general dentistry, optometry information, fitness training awareness, a Taekwondo demonstration, financial wellness and banking, physical therapy, cooking healthy, mental health, massage therapy and chiropractic care.
Organizations with representation include the American Red Cross, the Loup Basin Public Health Department and the University of Nebraska Cooperative Exchange.
Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center is teaming up with Good Samaritan Health Systems for Derma Scans from 3:30-7;30 p.m.; and health presentations on ‘An Introduction to Cancer’ at 4 p.m.; ‘Tobacco Cessation or Genetic Testing’ at 4:45 p.m.; ‘Women’s Health Issues’ at 5:30 p.m. and ‘Men’s Health Issues’ at 6:15 p.m.
There will be events for the children as well as adults, so the entire family is invited.
