David B. Williams, 65

David B. Williams, 65, of Ord passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Valley County Health System in Ord.

A Celebration of Life was Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Ord Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Trever Rook officiating. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery. Military Honors were presented by the Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38; and Offutt Air Force Base Military Honor Guard.

Memorials are suggested to the Ord Flag Fund.

Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

David Bruce was born Jan. 8, 1949, at Ord, to Carol B. and Vivian J. (Zikmund) Williams. He was raised in Ord where he received his education and graduated from Ord High School in 1967.

David continued his education at Park’s School of Business in Denver, Colo., studying electronics.

March 8, 1969, David was united in marriage to Carolyn Wall at Riverton, Wyo. To this union a son, Shane was born.

In 1970, David began his career in the United States Air Force. He was stationed all around the world including Okinawa, Greenland, Turkey, Greece, Amsterdam, Tampa Bay, Florida and Hot Springs, Ark. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of service.

David continued to live in Hot Springs where he owned and operated an egg producing chicken farm. He returned to Ord and later resided in St. Paul. David settled in Ord where he continued to live until his passing.

David was a member of the Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38. He enjoyed muscle cars, and Nebraska Football. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and especially enjoyed duck hunting and Colorado elk hunting.

Survivors include his father, Carol B. Williams and his wife, Jeannette of Ord; a son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Kim Williams of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; an adopted daughter, Tonya Williams, stationed in the US Navy in North Carolina; three grandchildren, Skylar, Shaynna and Ava Williams; a sister and brother-in-law Deb and Trevor Fischer of Ord; and a brother, Daris Williams of Ord.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Williams.
