Delilah R. VanVleet, 86 of Kearney, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 2, at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. The Rev. Mitch Ivey will officiate. Interment will be in the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Grace Fellowship Church in Kearney. She was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Dunning, to Russell and Mabel (Anderson) Zutavern. She grew up in Dunning, and graduated from high school there. She attended one year at Kearney State Teachers College.
She was married to Eugene VanVleet in 1949.
She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Kearney. She enjoyed spending time with her family and studying her Bible.
Survivors include son, Marc (Karla) of Billings, Mont.; daughters, Diane (Larry) Folk of Eatonton, Ga., Teresa (Johnny) Danos of Des Moines, Iowa, and Jeanne (Jack) Ferbrache of Omaha; twp grandchildren, Josie and Hunter of Billings, Mont.; sisters, Aileen Davenport of Montana and Georgia Plumb of Washington and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Hal and granddaughter, Natasha.
