Donald Broyles, 76
Donald R. Broyles, age 76 passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at home surrounded by loved ones.
Don was devoted to his family, work and country. He was born Aug. 26, 1936, and raised on the Broyles Dairy Farm one-half mile east of Broken Bow. He attended Broken Bow schools and enjoyed football.
Don was a U.S. Navy veteran. After leaving the Navy he joined the California Highway patrol, first being assigned to the motorcycle division (CHIPS) where Don pursued his education and rose through the ranks holding many positions and retiring as a captain.
Upon retiring from the California Highway Patrol, Don took a position as instructor in the Workmanâ€™s Compensation Division for the state of Nevada giving seminars for businesses in Nevada. After several years, he retired from this job and enjoyed traveling.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son Patrick; father Arthur S. Broyles and mother Nellie G. Miller Broyles.
Don is survived by his son, Bryan of Portola, Calif., sister Beverly (Wilbur) Wallace of Augusta, Kan., nephew mark Wallace of Oklahoma City, Okla., grand niece Zoe Wallace of Wichita, Kan., and companion Anita Stapleton of Reno, Nev.,
Don was loved and his kindness and sense of humor will be missed.
His wishes were of cremation and internment in the Veteranâ€™s Memorial Mausoleum in Fernley, Nev.
