Fair opening act announced
Two weeks ago, the announcement was made that The Casey Donahew Band would be headlining the entertainment at the 2013 Custer County Fair. This week another announcement was made of the act that will open the show and round out an evening of top-notch country music. Kristen Kelly has recently burst onto the country music scene, and if you watched the Country Music Awards Sunday night you may have seen her as she was interviewed on the red carpet prior to the show. Kristen will open for The Casey Donahew Band in front of the grandstands at the Custer County Fair Tuesday night, July 30. “We are very excited to have two national names coming to Custer County to be on a great show. This show will bring folks in from outside our county to see these two artists perform,” said Craig Safranek, one of the concert’s organizers. Kristen Kelly has been described as “candid and down to earth, with a room-filling smile and a voice that echoes the heart of what she sings.” Kristen laughs as she describes her music as "a little more grease than polish." And that grease is an exciting mix, distilled from her country, blues, and classic rock influences into a passionate, playful, often sexy, and always heartfelt reflection of real life as she knows it. Kristen has recently released her Arista Nashville debut album, co-produced by nine-time CMA Award-winning producer Tony Brown and two-time GRAMMY-winning songwriter Paul Overstreet.
