Heavy rains flood Bow streets

August 12, 2013

A severe thunderstorm rolled through Custer County Friday night bringing hail, strong winds and heavy hail - and took many area residents by surprise. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Custer County, but by the time the warning was issued water was already rushing down many of the city's streets. This picture was taken at the intersection of South 5th and South C Streets about 8:50 p.m. Friday. Several cars became stalled trying to make their way through the deep water. Some preliminary unconfirmed reports say as much as 3 inches of rain fell in parts of the city withing a 30-minute span. We will have more on this story as more information becomes available.
