Hwy. 92 accident claims life of Arnold man

August 2, 2012

A two-vehicle accident late Wednesday morning west of Arnold claimed the life of an Arnold man. Rod Watson, 64 of Arnold, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Watson was driving a Dodge Ram pickup westbound on Highway 92 approximately five miles west of Arnold, when he collided nearly head on with a semi driven by 37-year-old Bryan Kruse of Seward. Cheryl Bouwens, 51 of Arnold, a passenger in the Watson pickup, was transported along with Kruse by Arnold Rescue to Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. The condition of both injured is unknown, though neither is considered to be life-threatening.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office and Nebraska State Patrol conducted the investigation. Neither Watson or Kruse were wearing their seatbelts.
