Ice in forecast for central Nebraska Friday night

Staff Writer

The National Weather Service (NWS) has added more more freezing type precipitation to the forecast.

NWS says freezing rain is possible Friday night, changing to snow Saturday morning, with snow accumulations through the day Saturday.

More freezing type precipitation will mean less accumulating snow. If the track of the storm system moves 50 miles further south, the area could end up no freezing precipitation and all snow.

If freezing precipitation occurs, roads will be ice covered making travel dangerous. Snow on top of ice covered roads on Saturday will make travel dangerous. There could be power outages due to ice.
