If you drink and drive you lose!

Beginning Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 through Jan. 1, 2014, the Broken Bow Police Department will be involved in the statewide “You Drink & Drive, You Lose” Selective DUI Enforcement.This is a coordinated effort of law enforcement agencies to decrease the number of impaired drivers in our communities. This selective enforcement is funded through a Nebraska Office of Highway Safety grant.Several Nebraska Alcohol-Related Statistics:• In 2012, there were 30,443 crashes in Nebraska, 1,779 alcohol-related vehicle crashes.• In 2012, there were 10,605 arrests made for Driving Under the Influence in Nebraska. Of those, 9528 were convicted. • In 2012, there were 190 fatal vehicles crashes, resulting in 212 deaths.
