Irene Littlejohn Hageman, 81

Irene was born July 28, 1929, in Broken Bow, to Boyd Emery and Mirttie Mae (Hatfield) Griffith. She was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as her savior at an early age. She actively attended the Berean Church in Broken Bow.
Upon graduating Broken Bow High School in 1948, Irene moved to California where she met and married George Everett Littlejohn, Jr. To that union five sons were born. They are Gerald Leon, Keith Wayne, Kenneth Sarren, Ronald Lynn and Robert Allen.
June 13, 1986 Irene married Warren James (Jim) Hageman, Sr., in California and has four step-children. She returned to Nebraska upon Jim’s death in 1996.
Irene was always a hard worker, and worked in cafes all of her adult life and was a cook for the Enlisted Men’s Club at China Lake Naval Weapon’s Base in Ridgecrest, Calif., for eight years.
After reitring, she spent her leisure time studying the Bible, crocheting, reading and saving poetry and recipes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren James (Jim) Hageman, Sr.; one son, Robert Littlejohn; her father, Emery Boyd Griffith; and mother, Mirttie Mae Griffith; five brothers, Clarence Griffith, Sherman (Katherine) Griffith, John (Lucille) Griffith, Dale (Lillian Griffith, and Bernard Griffith; four sisters, Leona (Jim) Huffaker, Ruby Johns (Frances) Pickerill, Opal Burkhart, and Marion Oxford Fletcher; and one step-son, Carl Andrew Hageman.
Surviving are four sons, Jerry (Beth) Littlejohn of Colorado Springs, Colo., Keith (Bonnie) Littlejohn of Omaha, Kenneth (Pattie) Littlejohn of Virginia Beach, Va., and Ronald Littlejohn of Kearney; four step-children, Carl (Karrie) Hageman, Sr., of Ridgecrest, Calif., Warren James (Janet) Hageman Jr., of Pearson Ville, Calif., Valeria Hageman of Victorville, Calif., and Barbara (John) Leslie of Long Pine, Calif.; 10 grandchildre; 17 great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Lillian (Dale) Griffith; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were Nov. 8, 2010, at the Berean Church with burial at the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Iverson Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
