Julia (Beal) Raymond, 63
A memorial service at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was conducted Nov. 26, 2012, for Julia Lorraine (Beal) Raymond, of St. Paul, Minn., who died unexpectedly at her home on Nov. 15, 2012. The Rev. Neil Elliott officiated. Julie was born April 6, 1949, in Broken Bow to Franklin and Frances Cox Beal. Julie attended Broken Bow Public Schools and graduated with the BBHS class of 1967.
She entered Kearney State College the next year, majoring in English and Art. In 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert Raymond of Loup City. They had one son, Ryder Beal Raymond, who was born at Fort Monmouth, N.J., where Bob was stationed prior to his tour in Viet Nam.
Julia and Bob eventually moved to St. Paul, Minn., where he obtained a veterinary degree and opened his own practice. Julie was interested in becoming a chef and was employed in food preparation at the St. Paul Graduate Club on Summit Avenue, the Afton House and Forepaugh's.
She was considered an accomplished cook by all who knew her. She later decided to work as an administrative specialist for the Minnesota Medical Association and, later, the Minnesota Department of Health, Office of Health Facility Complaints, from which she retired.
She was an avid reader, loved politics, and summers at the family cabin in Marcel, Minn.. She is survived by her son Ryder (Cheryl) Raymond and grandson D.J.; sisters Jean Beal and Mary Ellen (Neil) Elliott, of St. Paul, Minn., and nieces Sylvia (Ruben) Corral and Alison (John) Good of Los Angeles, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles A. Beal. Burial arrangements are being made in Marcel.
