Knights win several medals at Brady-Gothenburg Invite

GOTHENBURG -- The Sandhills/Thedford Knight’s track team participated in the Brady-Gothenburg Invite last Thursday. The Lady Knights scored 68 points for third place behind Brady and Maxwell. The Knight boys team placed fifth with 17 points.
Double medal winners in individual eventâs for the Lady Knights were Danya Mintle in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, Sarah Miles in the 100 and 400 meter dashes, Valerie Matulka in the 800 and 1600 meter runs, Jacy Spencer in the 300 meter hurdles and high jump, and Chantelle Milleson in the shot put and discus.
The Lady Knights placed in each of the relays. The 4x400, 4x800 and the weight throwers 4x100 meter relay teams each earned second place medals while the 4x100 meter relay finished third.
The Knight boys relay teams won two medals. The 4x400 meter relay team placed 3 and the 4x800 meter relay team finished in fourth position. Jarred Barnes and Matthew McLeod werer the only individual medalists. Barnes had the third best time in the 800 meter run and McLeod tied teammate Cole Taylor with a 5-2 heighth in the high jump, but it was McLeod who took the sixth place medal.
