Lady Warriors win Overton Invite, Sargent boys finish close second

Ansley, Loup County and Sargent were back in action on Tuesday joining SEM at the Overton Invite. The Lady Warriors won the team title with Sargent and SEM finishing third and fourth. In the boys division, Sargent finished second by four points to team champion Axtell with SEM finishing third.
Katie Drake led the Lady Warriors with three gold medals winning the 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and was on the winning 4x400 meter relay team. Also winning three gold medals were Entz and Rohde with two coming from the winning 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams. Entz also won the100 meter dash and Rohde won the 200 meter dash. Ansley made it a sweep in the relays after winning the 4x800.
The Sargent Lady Bulldogs earned three gold medals. Madison Kozeal won the 400 meter dash and Rebecca Davenport won the long and triple jumps.
Loup County’s Kindra Dunbar earned three medals with two shining of gold. Dunbar had the winning times in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.
Sara Simmons and Tabitha Anderson won four medals for the SEM Lady Mustangs. Simmons placed in the long jump, both hurdle events and the 200 meter dash. Anderson place in the high jump and on all three relay teams.
The Sargent boys were five points shy of winning the team title at the Overton Invite. The Bulldogs finished with 99 points to Axtell’s 103. Following closely behind the Bulldogs in third place were the SEM Mustangs with 90 points.
Sargent’s David Vincent, for the second day in a row, was a gold medalist in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Guy and Jed Fenske won four medals including a gold medal each as Guy won the 800 meter run and Jed won the long jump.
Winning four medals for the SEM Mustangs were Cale Eacker and Dillan Line. Line won gold medals in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles as well as placing in the long jump and 4x400 meter relay. Eacker placed in the triple jump, 800 meter run and the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays.
The Ansley Warriors were led with three second place medals. Ryan Hircock placed second in the shot put and discus while Jesse Mullen placed second in the 110 meter hurdles.
Loup County’s top medalist was Cooper Shermer who placed fourth in the 200 meter dash.
