Lawrence I. Dady, 94
Lawrence Ivan Dady was born May 26, 1916, at Mason City, and left this earth Feb. 7, 2011, in Kingman, Ariz. He was 94-years-old.
Funeral services were March 26 at the Norco Christian Church in Norco, Calif., with the Rev. Alton Vance officiating. Entombment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, Calif., with Forest Lawn Mortuay of Cypress in charge of arrangements.
Lawrence graduated from Mason City High School. He married Alta Ferguson in 1938, and the couple eventually moved to California where he worked most of his life in the auto business. Lawrence was always involved in every phase of raising, training, showing and driving horses.
Alta passed away in 1996.
Lawrence married Winifred Gariepy in 1998. In 2003, they purchased property in Arizona and resided there during the duration of his life. Although he was bed-ridden during his last 10 years, he enjoyed watching the wildlife from his bed.
Lawrence was a highly skilled and successful equistrian with many hundreds of ribbons and trophies to his credit. he was loved and respected by all who ever met him, both socially and professionally.
He was a highly skilled artist, hand-tooling a leather plaque of the great American Seal for Elvis Presley.
Lawrence now joins his beloved sisters, Lela Dady Troop, who was laid to rest last September, and Dessie Dady Wray, both at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
He leaves behind his wife, Winifred; sister, Ivalou Morser; niece and her husband, Prefessors Jane Tropp Craig and Dale Craig; his very beloved â€˜children and grandchildrenâ€™ in Arizona, and others too numerous to mention.
He is remembered very warmly by many dozens of doctors and nurses who cared for him over the years in hospitals, hospice and at home. Lawrence was a very special gentle gentleman.
