Linda Bates, 67

Linda Lou Bates, age 67, of Stella, passed away Tuesday, May 17, at the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. Funeral services were Friday, May 20, at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn.
Linda Lou Schwaninger, daughter of Elgin Schwaninger and Dorothy (Cook) Schwaninger was born May 12, 1944, in Beatrice. She was one of five children born to this union. Linda graduated in Holdrege in 1962.
After high school she worked at Artistic Woven Labels in Holdrege. She was united in marriage to Max C. Bates June 18, 1977. To this marriage one daughter, Amy was born. Linda and Max lived in North Platte, Merna, and setteled in Anselmo.
Linda was a member of the Custer-Blaine Gideon Auxi-liary and a member at the Open Bible Church in Dunning. Linda and Max moved to Stella in the fall of 2000. She attended the Grace Bible Fellowship Church.
She loved playing board games, spending time with her family and painting. Due to ill health Linda entered the Nemaha County Hospital and it is there that she passed away.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elgin and Dorothy.
She is survived by her husband, Max Bates of Stella; daughter, Dr. Amy Bates of Overland Park, Kan.; sisters, Joyce Hoffman and husband Sam of Rancho Cordova, Calif. and Judy Larson of Holdrege; brothers, Roger Schwaninger and wife Phyllis of Glenwood, Iowa, and Rex Schwaninger and wife Margie of Bettendorf, Iowa, other relatives and friends.
Hall Funeral Chapel of Auburn is in charge of arrangements.
