Manager vs. Administrator: Bow to host informational sessions

August 4, 2014

The Broken Bow City Council gave its blessing on the circulation of a petition asking that the public be offered a chance to vote on the desired form of government for Broken Bow. If enough signatures are gathered the vote will take place during the general election.

The city of Broken Bow has two informational sessions concerning the pros and cons between City Administrator and and City Manager forms of government planned for this Thursday, Aug. 7, at 5:15 and 6:30 p.m. Both sessions will take place in the Broken Bow Municipal Building.

The discussion sessions will be lead by Bill Podraza with Miller and Associates Consulting Engineers, P.C. of Kearney.

Please plan to attend, by law, the decision is be up to the voters and your opinion counts.

To initiate a change ... a petition first has to be filed asking for the question to be taken to the voters. In order for the petition to be valid, it has to contain 308 validated signatures. Once these signatures are deemed to be genuine, the issue is to be placed before the voters in the next general election, which in this case will be Nov. 4.
