An investigation by the Broken Bow Police Department, with assistance from the Custer County Sheriffâ€™s Office, has led to the arrest of five people in Broken Bow on methamphetamine charges.
The local law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant during the very early morning hours Saturday, March 30.
The five arrested were: Jay Hundstad, 44 of Cheyenne, Wyo., Amanda Hoffman, 42 of Cheyenne, Wyo., Patrick Mortensen, 35 of Broken Bow, Soyon Chessmore, 29 of Broken Bow, and Marty Gottschalk, 29 of Broken Bow.
All five were arraigned Wednesday in Custer County Court. Gottschalk has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Distribution of a Controlled Substance. The other four have been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
Hunstad and Mortensen remain in custody in the Custer County Jail with bond set at 10 percent of $50,000.
Gottschalk is currently on parole from the Nebraska Department of Corrections, where he was serving sentences of 3-8 years on charges of possession of methamphetamine in Buffalo and Adams counties. He was released on parole Jan. 25, 2013. He is being held without bond, pending return to the Department of Corrections.
Hoffman is free on $1,000 PR bond. While bond for Chessmore was also set at $1,000 PR, she has an outstanding warrant from Lancaster County and the Lancaster County Sheriffâ€™s Office picked her up Wednesday.
