Mr. & Mrs. Mike Schweitzer

Michaela Hamel and Mike Schweitzer of Hastings were united in marriage Sept. 10, 2011, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings. The bride is daughter of Michael Hamel of North Platte and Coralene Hamel of Hastings. The groom is the son of Marvin and Kathy Schweitzer of Arnold.
Mike’s grandparents are Ed and Betty Pierson of Arnold, formerly of Broken Bow, and the late Clyde and Thelma Schweitzer of Broken Bow.
Matron of honor was Kayla Weidner and maid of honor was Kayla Roth, both friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katrina Hamel, sister of the bride, Jenni Caldwell, Abby Terwey and Amber Welch, all friends of the bride, and Michelle Dramse, cousin-in-law of the groom.
Best men were Rick Schweitzer, brother of the groom, and Shawn Corbin, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Eric Strasburg, Josh Geyer, both friends of the groom, John Dugger, brother of the bride, Dana Dramse, and grooms woman Melissa Gamet, both cousins of the groom.
Ushers were Cody Schweitzer, Aaron Schweitzer and Troy Schweitzer, all cousins of the groom, and Jack Forman, nephew of the bride. Robbie Gentrup, cousin of the groom, and Colt Scott, nephew of the bride were ring bearers.
Brielle Hamel-Evans, daughter of the bride, and Kyler Weidner, friend of the bride, were flower girls.
Paige Schweitzer, sister-in-law of the groom, was a candle lighter. Katrina Hamel, sister of the bride, sang Keeper of the Stars, and Mandy Schweitzer, cousin-in-law of the groom, played piano.
A reception was held at the Hastings Eagle Club. Hosts and hostesses were Darla Deines and Jayden Langholz, friends of the bride, and Julio and Emily Galvin, cousins of the groom. The wedding cakes were made by friends of the groom, Christy Rupe and Kim Seelmeyer.
The bride is a graduate of Hastings High School and Hastings College with a degree in psychology-health intervention emphasis. Michaela is employed with Future Family Services as a Youth and Family Specialist.
The groom is a graduate of Arnold High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in industrial technology education. Mike is employed as an Industrial Technology teacher and a coach at Grand Island Northwest High School.
Mike and Michaela Schweitzer reside in Hastings.
