Multiple fires task volunteers

A control burn 5 miles east of Arnold on State Highway 92, and a second 15 miles northwest of Callaway fell victim to the wind, with Fire Departments from Arnold, Broken Bow, Callaway, Oconto, Stapleton, Anselmo, Merna and planes from Broken Bow and Stapleton called into action.
Emergency crews spent an estimated 12 hours on the job bringing the fires under control. Emergency Management Director Shawn Owens said All Points Coop among others, offered great support and he thanked all the departments for their mutual aid, the Sheriff’s Department, State Patrol and the 911 Center for their service to their communities.
