Katrina Gotschall, a 1998 Broken Bow High School alumni, is the owner and artist behind Katrina Lee Photography and Grassroots Images, a custom photography business specializing in creating art that celebrates people’s stories. Â
Living in Atkinson with her husband Scott and two boys Carter and Alex, Katrina has been teaching Literature and Photojournalism at O’Neill High School for the last eight years. Her roots in Custer County bring her home often, and while in the area, she enjoys spending time photographing the people and rural landscapes that she holds most dear. Â
She is the creative centergy behind the new photo display at Jennie M. Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.
A few months ago, after connecting with Mike Steckler, CEO of the medical center, Katrina designed a wall gallery of newborn portraiture for the new Labor and Delivery wing.  The gallery has been installed, but now there is another space waiting to be filled with more beautiful portraits, and to make it extra special, she’d like that gallery to showcase babies born at Jennie M. Melham. Â
Currently, there are special cards being included in the bags going home with Jennie Melham Medical Center’s soon-to-be mothers.  These special cards offer a gift from Katrina and can be used toward any maternity, newborn or baby plan session. Additionally, a portrait from these sessions may be used to create the new gallery being designed for the hospital.
This will be an ongoing collaboration, and Katrina hopes to make this a special tradition.
