Nominations for American History Teacher of the Year

The Nebraska Department of Education is seeking nominations for the 2014 Nebraska American History Teacher of the Year.

The Nebraska State History Teacher of the Year will receive a check for $1,000, historical teaching materials and will be eligible for the National History Teacher of the Year Award, which includes a $10,000 award.

Only middle school and high school teachers in grades 7-12 will be considered for the 2014 award. The award alternates yearly between elementary and middle/high school teachers.

Anyone - a student, parent, colleague, school official - familiar with a teacher's work may nominate a 7th -12th grade teacher for the award.
