Shea shuts the door on Loup City for Bow juniors

June 23, 2013

Taylor Shea used a strong 6th and 7th inning to close out Loup City Saturday night as Broken Bow took the 5-3 victory.

Broken Bow trailed 3-1 heading into the top of the 6th inning when two costly Loup City errors allowed Broken Bow to take a 5-3 lead.

Shea then recorded strikeouts in four of the last six outs to help Bow secure the victory.

Travis Kleeb got the start on the mound and had a solid outing as well in his five innings of work. He struck out four while walking just one and allowed just two earned runs on five hits.

Shea was also the leading RBI- man in the game, driving in two while going 1-4 from the plate with a double. Scott Davis earned the other RBI with a single in one of his two at-bats.

Broken Bow also got hits from Kleeb (single), Noel Chapin (double) and Trevor Scott (double).
