Stoltenberg named Postmaster of the Year

Michele Stoltenberg, Postmaster of Sargent 68874, was awarded the Nebraska Branch of the National LEAGUE of Postmasters, Postmaster of the Year award Monday, April 15, at their annual state convention in Grand Island. She has been Postmaster in Sargent since July 23, 2005, when she was appointed to the position. Competition on the National level will be held in San Diego, Calif., July 21 – 25, 2013, during the national convention.

Michele started her USPS career in August 1994, as Postmaster Relief in Dunning, while raising her children in the Sandhills of Nebraska. She’s always been willing to lend a hand in area offices working over the years in Halsey, Brewster, Anselmo and Sargent while vacancies were waiting to be filled. Currently she serves on the Nebraska LEAGUE state board as the Executive Vice-President, a position she’s held for the past three years. She will continue to fulfill her board position until it expires in one year.

While being honored at the NE LEAGUE state convention, she was joined by her family along with employees Debra White, PMR; Larry Beitel, Rural Carrier; Margaret Divine, Rural Carrier Associate, and her husband, Bill Divine; and Gay Ash, Contract Delivery Specialist.

Michele currently resides in Sargent with her husband, Todd, who works for Slagle Angus. They have two children: Emily and husband Kash Tobias, who reside also in Sargent with 5-month-old daughter, Taylin, and Bryce and wife Samantha Stoltenberg, who live near Minatare, with their 3-week-old son, Braxtyn Todd.
