December 10, 2012

Yearly Custer Foundation dinner huge success

Official numbers aren't in, but if the bids are an indication, the Custer County Foundation's annual dinner Saturday (Dec. 8) was a huge success. Early estimates top last years earnings of $65,000 by over $10,000. The Municipal Building in Broken Bow played host, with those present there to support of the work the Foundation.

The big winners included TK and Christie Rogers, Stapleton/Dunning ranchers who will have a new 4-wheeler to take home, Rhonda Davis, the winner of the diamond necklace and Elizabeth Reynolds who out-smarted the 'heads or tails' challenge. She left with a check for $500.

The Custer County Foundation distributed over $39,000 last year back out to Custer County organizations in grants. The organization has a 20+ year history of giving under its belt.

Current officers and board of directors include: Executive Director Lisa Bell, President Dianna Whitesel, Vice President Jeff Denson, Secretary Connie Adams, Treasurer Karl Davis, Jami Anderson (Broken Bow), Mary Beshaler (Arnold), Karen Evans (Broken Bow), Brett Eggleston (Oconto), Jessye Goertz (Berwyn), Dave Green (Broken Bow), Julianna Jenkins (Callaway), Russ Rice (Broken Bow), Craig Safranek (Merna), Dorsett Sennett (Broken Bow), Lnda Tincher (Broken Bow) and Elise Uhlig, Office assistant.

Look to this week's Chief for more pictures and the evening's results.
