William "Bill" Rickertsen, 89

William "Bill" Rickertsen, 89, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died Dec. 3, 2012, at his home in Gothenburg.
He was born June 30, 1923, in Lexington, the son of Adolph and Henny (Seehusen) Rickertsen.
Bill married Lucile Smith on May 23, 1948, at Sumner; to this union four children were born: W. Alan, Archie, J.D. and Lori.
Bill farmed for many years and was involved in Farm Bureau, serving as the County President; 4-H, including being a leader for many years. He also served as a school board member. He was an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church where he had been a member for over 50 years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lucile Rickertsen of Gothenburg; three sons - W. Alan (Gay) Rickertsen of Gothenburg; Archie (Jan) Rickertsen of Gothenburg; JD (Sheri) Rickertsen of Sargent; daughter - Lori (John) Cox of Sargent; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two sisters - Frida Cline of Newton, KS; Betty (Roy) Clark of Lexington, NE; sisters-in-law - Marjorie Smith of Mauston, WI; and Bertha Rickertsen of Lexington; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry, Chris and Carl Rickertsen; two sisters, Anna Hilton and Elsie Biehl.
Cremation was chosen. There will be no public services at this time.
