Winter finally makes a strong appearance

February 22, 2013

The entire state of Nebraska was braced for an intense winter storm Thursday and Friday, and the system dubbed "Storm Q" lived up to its hype. According to the National Weather Service office in North Platte, Broken Bow received 8 inches of snow from Wednesday evening to Friday morning.

The heavy snow made travel difficult, as this trucker can attest! He got stuck while attempting to make a right turn, backing up traffic for two blocks. The truck was stuck for approximately 20 minutes before finally getting out and back on his way.

The National Weather Service is also forecasting the possibility of more snow Sunday night and Monday across the area. Stay on top of the local weather conditions by utilizing the Accu Weather Forecast tab in the top right corner of this website.
