ANSLEY - - A 50-year-old Ansley man has been arrested for possession of child pornography, as the result of a joint investigation involving the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force.
Anthony Lewandowski, who resides at 814 Hale Street in Ansley, was arrested June 21, 2012, after a warrant was issued following an investigation in which a computer that Lewandowski possessed was found to have child pornography on it. The computer, along with other electronic devices, was seized.
Lewandowski was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Custer County Jail, with bond set at 10 percent of $100,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Custer County Court on one charge of possession of child pornography, a Class III felony, today, June 28. According to Custer County Attorney Tami Schendt the charges may be amended to include more charges at a later date.
The arrest of Lewandowski was the result of the cooperative effort of ICAC, of which law enforcement officers from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol are members.
A Class III felony is punishable by 1-20 years in prison for each count, and/or $25,000 fine.
