Heather Proskocil and Austin Hendrickson, both now of Kearney, are engaged to be married Oct. 20, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Don and Deb Proskocil of Ord. She graduated in 2009 from Ord Public High School. Heather is attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and is set to graduate in May 2013. She is majoring in family studies with a minor in early childhood education. She is currently employed at Kidtopia Childcare in Kearney. She is involved with, Student Support Services, UNK Council on Family Relations and is a member of the Thompson Scholar Learning Community.
The prospective groom is the son of Dave and Tammy Hendrickson of Broken Bow. He graduated in 2008 from Broken Bow Public High School. Austin is attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and is also set to graduate in May 2013 He is majoring in information technology, with emphasis in system administration & security with a minor in information networking and telecommunications. He is currently employed at Valley Medical Management Services LLC., Kearney, as an Information Technology Administrator.
Austin is involved as president of Association of Computing Machinery and is Leader of the Information Network Leadership Organization and is a member of the Thompson Scholars Learning Community.
Austin is also a member of the UNK Loper Track and Field Team as a pole vaulter, for the indoor season and outdoor seasons
Heather’s grandparents are Norma Joseph of Grand Island, and the late Jerry Joseph and Evelyn Proskocil of Ord.
Austin’s grandparents are Rosalie McKnight of Broken Bow, (formerly of Comstock) and Allen and Delores Hendrickson of Broken Bow.
