Elmer LeRoy Geiser was born June 27, 1923, to Elmer Charles and Vera Fern (Phifer) Geiser on their ranch northeast of Arnold. He was the second of seven children.
Bub became known by the nickname he acquired as a young child. He was called “Little Brother” which came out sounding like “Little Bubber”.
He attended Arnold High School and graduated in 1940.
Bub and Virginia Brown were married Oct. 3, 1943, at the Arnold United Methodist Church. Bub served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany at the end of WWII. Bub and Virginia were blessed with six children in eight years. Their family has grown to 46 members; they are anticipating the arrival of great-grandchild number nine.
Bub’s greatest loves included his family, the Sandhills and his cattle operation.
February 2, 2013, Bub passed away at his home. He was 89 years old.
Bub was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lyle, Paul, Larrie and Dennis; sister Dorothy; and his son, Rodney.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Virginia; three sons, Terry and wife Judy, Greg and wife Tammy, and Doug and wife Marlene; two daughters, Paula and husband Phil Martin, and Deb; one brother, Morris; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends; all of whom are blessed to have had Bub in their lives.
Services will be Saturday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m., at the Methodist Church in Arnold. Memorials may be made to the Arnold Methodist Church, Arnold Fire and Rescue or Ascera Care Hospice.
