Leroy R. Giddings, age 65, of Broken Bow died Wednesday April 9, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island.
Funeral Services were Saturday, April 12, 2014, in Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial was at Lee Park Cemetery with Military rites. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of arrangements.
Leroy was born May 30, 1948, in Broken Bow to Delbert and Rena Giddings. He attended Myrtle school kindergarten through 8th grade and graduated from Ansley High School. Leroy retired from Becton Dickenson Vacutainer Systems after 38 years of tenure.
Leroy enjoyed his long walks, gardening, reading, searching for coins with his medal detector and spending time with his family. He enjoyed working on cars and spent several years restoring a Model A car.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Doris Giddings of Broken Bow; son, Dana Giddings and his wife Deana Giddings of Broken Bow; daughter, Emmy Poland and her husband Mark Poland of Omaha; his beloved grandchild, Alex Poland; three sisters, Darla Drake and her husband Dan Drake of Ainsworth, Roma Porter and her husband Jim Porter of Broken Bow, and Della Giddings of Hastings. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lily Caldwell.
