Career Day tomorrow in Bow

Custer Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) will be holding their 4thAnnual Career Day for the Junior and Senior High School students in central Nebraska Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012. The day is designed to allowstudents to visit participating businesses in Broken Bow, giving them a view of the possible career choices that would serve the needs of centralNebraska. "Our Career Day is an excellent opportunity for both the students ofCentral Nebraska and the businesses of Broken Bow. The students are able to take a behind the scenes tour of the local businesses and learn about the opportunities for careers and begin to build a relationship with their potential future employers," noted Melissa Garcia, President of the Custer Economic Development Corporation. "There are a lot of great career opportunities here." Fifteen businesses and more than 70 students from seven area high schools plan to participate in the Career Day. The businesses hosting tours include Adams Land and Cattle, BD, Bank ofBroken Bow, Custer Public Power, Gateway Motors, Grocery Kart, KCNI/KBBN, M&M Electric, Melham Medical Center, Nebraska State Bank, Plains Equipment, Red Line Equipment, Sargent Pipe, Thomas Livestock, and V-Bar Trailer Sales. Thanks to a grant from the Custer County Foundation, the students willstart the day with nationally recognized motivational speaker, Mary KayMueller.
