Flag Day commemorated by Elks, with DAR and Boy Scouts

In an early morning ceremony on the east side of the Elks Lodge in Broken Bow, a short ceremony was held for Flag Day. Members of Elks Lodge #1688 of Broken Bow hosted the ceremony with several members of the general public in attendance.

Officers of the Elks participated in the ceremony. Gary Wright presented a short history of the flag. Representatives from Boy Scouts Troop 48, Gavin Kemp, Austin Moore and Scout Master Dave McAlvey, raised the flag. Julia Loy led the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Jackie Young with the Daughter of the American Revolution provided information on the Pledge of Allegiance. Broken Bow students Wheeler Walz and Austin Rose performed Echo Taps on the trombone.
