The 2018 Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway (SJSB) held their annual awards banquet this Sat. Jan. 13th at the One Box Convention Center.
Bill Burdett, of Agri-Tours received the SJSB Byway Community Enhanced award for his efforts on the Follow the Rails Art Trail for 2017, Mitch Hunt of Huntrex and Mason Porter of KNOP TV received the SJSB Business of the Year award for the Public Service Announcements (PSA) produced to promote the Sandhills by Huntrex and the PSA announcements provided the KNOP that went “viral”. Receiving the SJSB Friend of the Byway was Rick Maas for his efforts and volunteer work with the SJSB Barn on the east edge of Broken Bow. 2017 President and director Linda Lacey of Ashby, introduced the 2018 board of directors which are: Terri Licking, Thedford, President, Bill Burdett, Cairo, Vice President, Twila Phillips, Mullen, Secretary, Charity Adams, Cairo, Treasurer. Other directors are Mitch Glidden, Mullen, Kevin Howard, Alliance, Karen Neppel, Grand Island.
